Safilin has it's headquarters and one of it's three spinning plants in the very  middle of the flax growing area.

Is ideally located  in the North of France, in the middle of the linen fields area of Western Europe.

It is well known for the production and sale of its Linen yarns, pure or blended, as well as Hemp yarns and  fine fibres for "ring" or "Open End" spinning.

Quality Linen are produced in the littoral area from Caen (France) to Rotterdam (The nederlands). :

85 % of Linen is produced in France

10 % in Belgium,

  5 % in The Nederlands.

Other areas of raw material production in the world don't benefit of the same temperate climate : Flax grows best in France : thus the fibres are stronger.

Sowings are precocious in France ; this gives  stronger fibres.

Regular alternance of rain and sun in summer enables good retting,

moderate rains in September and October allow to gather fibres in good conditions.
